This song is about giving women their space and women reclaiming space. It's an imagined story about the woman, "Isobel," from Bjork's song Isobel who finds herself married but subscribing to practices within that marriage that actually really oppress her. I think a lot of women find themselves in this position. Where they follow all the rules of patriarchy, but then at some point get so oppressed by it that they burst at the seams. Whether consciously or unconsciously, they have to rebel. They have to get free. In this case Isobel reclaims her name as a way to do that.
